To me all of this drama is very simple: Always play to win and never collude with your friends in leaderboard matchmaking. Any grey area puts you in a “Fuck around, find out” situation. That said, I think Axie messed up by backing down on their zero tolerance policy for cheating. Reinstating players that were caught red handed abusing the system (and other players) signals that integrity isn’t a top priority.
Why only a warning? There’s a small chance that qualifies for a “reasonable” doubt that his mouse actually went out of battery. But it’s suspicious and if stuff like this happens again the past warning would be useful for some additional consideration. Ideally in the future this stuff can be handled by the community, and not us making judgments.
Nope, ill try to explain A group of top players(3+ in top 10) in the largest guild were queue sniping the world champion @1437_MT8 in the final stretch & purposely roping him so he couldn't have time. Basically a few of them were playing keep away so another guild member could take-over & win 1st place Think this kind of behavior hurts the integrity of competitive play & shouldn't be allowed in the future imo. Guilds & teamwork have a role in TCGs but its not to work together in-game to negatively affect the chances of another player I feel
I wanted to avoid drama especially since I am friends with YGG players, but I feel the need to defend @1437_MT8 and the integrity of the @AxieInfinity This is not a team game. It’s a 1v1 TCG- Colluding with a team to beat another player is cheating IMHO. Plain and simple It’s extremely unhealthy/dangerous. As a solo player, I have literally zero chance against this kind of targeted collusion & that’s very discouraging The thing I love most about TCGs is the solo nature of it. It’s a battle of the brains. You’re only limited by yourself. Which is why a mega guild colluding against you is flat out unacceptable. It limits everyone This should not be normalized. Before next season, rules need to be clarified and this shouldn’t be allowed to happen again If you want to go fast go alone & play TCGs, if you want to far with others find a new genre of game or at minimum work together without colluding against opponents directly in-game Rant over. Love ygg players still they’re all great people but this shouldn’t be allowed. 1437 deserved to win this season
