While i think the All Ireland draw is on too early and would work better on TV after the provincials I'm quite excited about it at the same time The draw for another Cup style competition is much better than those dull groups

Down won Div 3, beat Donegal & are now in Tailteann Cup. Cavan finished 6th in Div 2, lost to Monaghan and are in Sam Maguire. It should be Cavan in Tailteann Cup, not Down.

All my life, my whole family thought we were Irish. I always made corned beef and cabbage on St. Patty's Day. I love corned beef! We thought we were Irish because we have a lot of redheads in the family. Plus, our tree shows that our family, the McCalls, immigrated from Ireland in the mid-1800s. In 2009, I even took my daughter on a trip to Ireland to show her the country our family came from. Then I did my DNA. Turns out, we have no Irish at all. Not even a fraction of a percent. We're Scottish. The McCalls originated in Scotland and immigrated to Ireland in the 1600s. Guess I'll have to take a trip to Scotland one day. 🤷‍♀️

Whatever reservations I have about the new rules about the overall growth and health of the game, the lads coming through now having played it from 13/14/15 are going to burn it up. We are going to see so much attacking skill and bravery going forward. This is beautiful deception

Send this to coaches in your club. Pay no attention to those who come back with reasons for keeping players on the bench. A sub on your club team will not play for a school team. He will not be part of a development squad. He has one chance to play. You hold the keys.

@PlayerGaelic In a perfect world, that team should start the 14 who are in last year. We don't live in a perfect world. There is no generic ans to this question, each scenario is different. This is a very important discussion we should all be having, but you seem to have a certain view on it

@JOSullivanCasey A scenario: A club has one U14 panel. It has 22 players. 14 of the panel are in their final year. 8 are not. Of the subs regularly sitting on the bench, 4 are in their final year. Younger, more skilful players, are selected before them. How do we provide meaningful pitch time?

@PlayerGaelic U14 Yes, U12 is constant rotation every 5 mins

@PlayerGaelic Start up a second team? Go to 11 a side. We have to be careful with the balance, giving weaker players more game times is great for those players but are we punishing the better players for being good? This is a very complex issue that requires lots of thought and research.

@JOSullivanCasey We can all list reasons to justify bench time. If there’s a squad of 23, there will always be 8 who don’t start. The majority won’t be subs because of attitude or attendance. It will be down to fitness and ability. Let’s say 5 fit this category. They deserve min 50% pitch time.

If 684 delegates voted as coaches have, would it pass or would the top table deem it to have fallen just short of the target? Either way, people appear to want change. 🤷‍♂️
