Things wot I have learnt while at JPA... Pedunculate oaks have acorns growing on a stalk (peduncle), Sessile oaks have them attached direct to the branch. #oaks

@knightshayesNT 2 of the trees looked sound at the base– from what I could see no evidence of any significant decay due to Ganoderma, did they really need to be felled ? it seems both trees could easily have had many more years in them, what a shame to lose these great old trees !
