Strength training is incredibly important. But the reality is it’s nowhere near as “hard” to do as endurance sports. Lumber around the gym. Pick up something heavy. Put it down again. Rest for 3 minutes. Repeat. Leisurely if you ask me.

Track workout 4 x 200m 5 min rest Back at the track for the first time since mid November. Didn’t have a firm pace expectation for this one, just wanted to do something short, fast and low volume. Fun workout, lots more like this planned for the summer.

@Brady_H I have Vomero Premium. Do not buy for running. They are so stinking heavy. They look amazing but are not good running shoes.

@taggartvanetten How long did you build to get to that level of overtraining? Like how many weeks of 60-70, 80-90, 100-110 did you do before getting there

@taggartvanetten I don't see how 150 miles a week is possible, even for a very advanced runner. That's ~a marathon per day, with 1 day off. You're either already at that leve (somehow), or you hurt yourself.

First was ~175–178 lbs. Second is ~165–170 lbs. I intentionally targeted ~1–2 lbs per week while keeping training volume high. That meant running a controlled deficit, not crash dieting, and still fueling workouts properly. Slow enough to keep the work landing. Fast enough to actually move the needle.

One of the clearest effects of my recent weight loss has been how much lower my heart rate sits at the same paces. A pace that used to live squarely in Zone 2 for me now sits comfortably in Zone 1. For example, ~7:30/mi is firmly Z1 instead of Z2. You can see it clearly in the zone distribution. 2025 was dominated by Zone 2. 2026 has shifted heavily into Zone 1. Lower cost of movement changes everything.

@WatchChad Yeah, but God gives people in the Bible choice. And hard choices. It’s a book of people making hard choices. And it doesn’t have a passage anywhere where it says abortion is okay or abortion isn’t okay.

James Talarico claims the Bible is pro-choice because Mary said yes to God. It takes a lot of nerve to twist the birth of Jesus into a political talking point. That's not theology, it's nonsense. Go read Luke 1:26-38. Mary was tasked, not asked.

@JohnGoldman Currently using a plan and as a seasoned marathoner (PR 2:48, 25+ marathons), it’s been good so far through 3 months. I do think that there is too much interval work (if I’m not feeling a workout, I just sub easy). I think the long runs with MP are good too
