I'm going to be taking at least a pause from Twitter. Pretty unhappy with the direction of the site. You'll be able to find me on 🧵s.

@itsPaulAi Tested this recently, and it makes up references, so this is a bad use case.

1. Find recent academic references Since Bard is connected to the internet, it can find recent references. This is a great time saver to discover documents related to the subject. (Prompt below)

Don't use ChatGPT for academic research. Instead use Bard, the free alternative from Google. Here is how to use Bard smartly for academic purposes:

Strongest possible advice to early grad students: you need outside hobbies or projects that are meaningful to you. It is dangerous for your only source of value, identity, and friendship to be academia. You absolutely have to find something else to invest in, it’s just not safe

@thameswater No thanks, I've already referred this as a complaint and don't have confidence you'll be able to help from previous experiences.

Today, I made my 15th Blood Donation. It only took 45 minutes and the staff were great. If you have ever considered giving blood, I'd encourage you to book an appointment to donate or find out more on blood.co.uk! #GiveBlood

@PartridgeCG @francois_kroll I think this is definitely fair. I think one advantage of R/python, when combined with version control and open sourcing is greater reproduciblility and transparency in the statistical analysis produced. That's probably the key difference for me.

@PGDynes I'd be a bit hesitant about calling RCP 8.5, current path. Or at least it would be helpful to also present this map with other RCP scenarios, which I don't think they do in the paper, though I didn't check for supplementary material.

By 2070 (on current path) - 3 billion people will live in uninhabitable zones - Less than 50 years' time. The migration levels will be beyond anything ever witnessed.
