The King of grifters, Zelensky, just managed a 90 Billion Euro loan which will be paid by European and British tax payers. Keep him away from America.

@nxt888 And almost all of those who emphasize the Soviet sacrifice cognitively associate it with russia, while the battlefield was primarily Ukraine, with Ukrainians suffering proportionally far more than any other, especially civilians. So you likely have your incorrect education too…

They teach their children that America won World War II. Which is, and this is important, not technically false but is also a form of organized forgetting. The Soviet Union lost 27 million people defeating Nazi Germany. Twenty-seven million. The Eastern Front was the war. What happened in Western Europe after D-Day was, from a military scale perspective, the closing chapter. Americans know Pearl Harbor. They know D-Day. They know Hiroshima. They do not, in general, feel in their bones the weight of 27 million Soviet dead as a fact that shaped the outcome of a war they believe they won. This isn't ignorance. It's curation. History gets curated to produce a specific psychological output: we are the people who save the world. We showed up, we sacrificed, we won, we rebuilt Europe with the Marshall Plan, we were generous in victory. This narrative, repeated for eighty years, produces citizens who experience American power as inherently benevolent by historical nature. And those citizens then cannot understand why anyone resists it.

@TheOmniLiberal IMO an even better question is how many far right members of the Duma (parliament) there are in this “Nazi” country… The answer is “zero.” The truth is that Stalin called *anyone* he didn’t like a NAZI after the falling out with his pal with the funny mustache. They still do.

I often get accused of having a “pro-Ukraine bias.” Here’s the truth. I am biased. I’m biased towards freedom, democracy, & human rights. That’s what Ukraine represents right now. When you document war crimes, you don’t pretend there are “two sides” for balance. You show what is happening. One side is the aggressor. One side is the victim. If that offends you, you’re morally bankrupt.

@astraiaintel This is especially true if sanctions are relaxed *at all*, which would be guaranteed under any Trump-brokered Pause Fire. It would be *disastrous* to allow Muscovy to re-arm, with lessons learned… & with a fully war mobilized economy that would happen faster than the EU imagines

This is an interesting question. I think it comes down to two related things. 1. The anti-gun side has very successfully brainwashed the public to think that guns are the problem. I had a guy ask me recently "So what is your solution for gun violence?" That question falsely assumes that the "gun" qualifier has anything to do with the actual problem. It doesn't. It's not the gun, it's the person. But then you have to confront the actual question of why people do evil things, so it's much easier to blame the gun. Even people who believe in the Second Amendment have the idea deeply rooted in their subconscious that gun control aids public safety. Want to test it? See how many pro-gun people hesitate at the idea of removing background checks. The Supreme Court justices are products not just of society but of law school, where the typical lowkey Communistic indoctrination is dialed up to 1000. Even the pro-gun justices couldn't have been unaffected. 2. In light of all of that, most of the justices lack political courage. They follow culture, they don't lead it - and they're typically a couple of decades behind. Dobbs would never have happened 20 years ago, even with the exact same court. Bruen would not have happened without half of the country already being ahead of them with Constitutional Carry. Some of this timidity comes from a legitimate desire to be apolitical and protect institutions - part of which means change should normally be slow. I'm actually extremely sympathetic to that desire. It's just that if the founders put it in the Bill of Rights, that's about as traditional and institutional as it gets.

"I desperately wanted to live by the sea with my child. Now the sea is full of heating oil," sobs a resident of Tuapse after yet another attack on the port and refinery. "What are we supposed to do here? These damn drones are flying around, blowing everything up. You don't know if you or your child will even survive." This Russian scum had no problem for over four years with Russian soldiers invading peaceful Ukraine, committing over 217,000 war crimes, stealing, killing, and raping. But the oil in the sea makes them cry. Russians are the most disgusting people on this planet—not just because of this piece of shit, but because 83% of all Russians still support the mass murderer Putin—that's why.

HODGES: Ukraine’s future security guarantee is becoming like Israel — massive defense industry, rapid mobilization, all of society bought into defense. I think GUR is going to be like Mossad, 'going out and getting 🔫 ' all Russians responsible for war crimes against Ukraine.

@GMidtbo @anneapplebaum We have not spent nearly that much, and much of the “dollar value” we did provide was smoke & mirrors: “Replacement value” on obsolete equipment sitting in warehouses that would have cost us more to de-mil. 🙄 Supporting Ukraine is the biggest bargain in US NATSEC history.

@GMidtbo @anneapplebaum 1) Muscovy’s endurance in this effort is effected by the ongoing battle in the information space, in which they have co-opted the leadership of the most powerful country on the planet, successfully divided it from its nominal allies and caused it to end support for Ukraine…

The war is over when Russia stops attacking Ukraine, and when Russia gives up its central goal: To destroy or control all of Ukraine. After that we can discuss the borders, but as long as the Russians think they have American support they will continue

Vance says that stopping funding for Ukraine is one of his proudest achievements in this administration. I’m watching this stunningly cruel speech from Ukraine, as Russia continues to kills us every day. Just today, they killed 8-year-old boy in Cherkasy and five people in Dnipro. Dozens more were injured. The military assistance you are so proud of stopping was used to save lives in a war Russia started and continues every day by choice, in a war that only became possible after USA pressured Ukraine into disarming... I do not know if Vance can fully comprehend the scale of the tragedy unfolding here: a brutal, illegal war of extermination by Russia, and the slow abandonment by our allies. There is nothing to be proud of. Absolutely nothing.
