🇪🇺 Another anti-EU logical fallacy. Correlation is not causation. To say that the EU discriminates on the basis of 'ethnicity' because the countries it blacklists are 'not predominantly white' is as absurd as saying that it discriminates on the basis of temperature because the countries it blacklists are predominantly hot.
The accusation in this paper is that the EU has 'institutional discrimination', 'a bias based on ethnicity'. The truth is that the EU has public, transparent criteria. Countries are blacklisted to combat tax fraud, evasion and avoidance, and to reduce the risks that could threaten the Union's financial system. "Ethnicity" is not one of these criteria. For the EU, what the 30 or so countries on these two lists have in common is not that they are "not predominantly white", but that they pose similar risks in this respect. More info:
