I work in IT, but more here for FinTwit and humor. Opinions my own. I'd love to do stand up one day. Jokes not guaranteed.🧐

@UK_Daniel_Card You're free to get them. I'm free to think they are creepy. Telling me what to think isn't a thing.

The most bat shit insane things occur when you talk about meta ray ban glasses! people that don't own or have never used or configured them have really strong opinions! The main thing seems to be they don't like meta ..... and then obviously no one like people that creep, but it's hardly a subject restricted to these glasses alone! amazingly people creep and harass people with: smart phones web browsers pc/mac's etc. (computers) IRL cameras it's very bizarre how selective people can be!

@csgulyas @LasVegasLocally "So yeah, did scoring more goals than the other team help you win?" "Was goaltending important tonight?" "How do you feel about (next game/series)?" The only time these interviews are interesting is when the player or coaches give silly answers.

@LasVegasLocally "Media violations". Getting an interview from a team after a game used to be a privilege, now it is an obligation. The media keeps asking the same questions, at these mandatory pressers, and getting the same answers. I guess the only value is the money they get for the backdrop.

The NHL has fined Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella $100,000 and stripped the team of its 2026 second-round draft pick for "repeated post-game media violations." Some experts suspect this is payback for VGK having hockey's best fans.

@UK_Daniel_Card Not at all. Get the glasses without the camera. All the sunglass functions, none of the creep.

@SamSullivan I love when people say "Come to (random city) for the best (food item)" as if NYC doesn't have the best restaurants in the world. To be fair, there are 5-10 dishes that I'm truly happy with; everything else is too fancy.

Everyone goes all the way to Nashville to get hot chicken but the best chicken I ever had in my life is at The James Hotel in Gramercy.

So Israel is suing the New York Times. Not before time, if you ask me. Particularly since October 7 – the sexual depravities of which were revealed this week in a stomach-churning independent report – America's paper of record has preoccupied itself with magnifying the most grotesque stories about the Jewish state, giving Hamas the incentive to persevere in their bloodthirsty propaganda strategy. This week, it was a column by two-time Pulitzer prize winning journalist Nick Kristof, who in the distant past once retweeted a post describing a pro-Israel group as "pigs". Headlined "The Silence That Meets the Rape of Palestinians" – you see what they did there? – it relied upon the testimony of an NGO with well-documented links to Hamas, various anonymous sources and Sami al-Sai, a Gazan "freelance journalist" who appears to have shifted his story. In spite of these questionable sources, Kristof and the New York Times stand by the allegations. ✍️ Jake Wallis Simons Article | spectator.com/article/the-ne…

Your city is letting thousands of pounds of trash wash straight into rivers and bays every year. Cigarette butts, plastic bottles, wrappers, everything you see littering the street flows untreated through storm drains. Australia found a dead-simple fix. The city of Kwinana installed cheap mesh nets over drainage outlets. In the first six months, two nets caught 370 kg of trash. Six years later, they’ve captured over 3,660 kg. Melbourne scaled it up even further: 120 litter traps caught 3,468 kg in just six months. The nets are inexpensive, easy to empty, and the trash gets sorted, recycled, or composted. Prevention costs a fraction of beach and river cleanups after the fact. So… why isn’t your city doing this?

Mamdani is rewriting history to erase the role Arab states and Palestinian leaders played in shaping today’s reality. Arab states rejected the UN's plan to create a state for the Palestinians and then launched a war to destroy the Jewish state. Wars have consequences. And ignoring decades of Arab rejectionism and terrorism doesn't change reality. In a city where Jew-hatred is exploding, historical revisionism pours fuel on the fire.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed. Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
