Why Socialism Doesn't Work, Explained for a 10-Year-Old. You're in a class of 30 students. One kid works like crazy and gets an 18 average. Another does nothing and gets a 4. The teacher decides it's unfair and gives everyone the class average: 11. The one who had 18 stops working. Why bother if it changes nothing? The one who had 4 keeps doing nothing. Why work if you're handed 11 for free? The next year the class average is 7. Then 5. Then 3. The teacher doesn't get it. He thinks the problem is that the students aren't supportive enough of each other. So he starts punishing those who don't put in enough effort. He monitors everyone. He decides who studies what. He bans switching classes. That's exactly what happened. Every time. In every country. No exceptions. USSR, China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Cambodia, Ethiopia, East Germany. 40 attempts. Same result. Every time. Socialism punishes those who produce and rewards those who don't. Everyone ends up producing nothing. It IS happening here. It happens in NYC every day on and around the subway. The city transit police aren’t allowed to keep the cars or wait stations safe and clean; and Normies who own firearms aren’t allowed to carry them, openly or concealed, so guess what: the subway ain’t safe to ride on.

Brits surrendered their firearms in 1997. Less than 30 years later, they're being arrested for Facebook posts. That's not "safety." That's the speed of tyranny once a government knows its citizens can't push back. When people are disarmed, the state no longer fears the people. And when governments have zero fear of the people, they do whatever the hell they want. History proves it over and over: an unarmed population is a compliant one. The right to bear arms isn't just about hunting or sport, it's the final check against a government that forgets it's supposed to serve, not rule. The Second Amendment isn't about muskets. It's about maintaining the balance of power between citizens and the state. Never give up the means to defend your liberty. Because once it's gone, the slide into authoritarianism happens faster than most people expect. May this never happen here.

PJ O’Rourke made this point eloquently twenty-some-odd years ago in a book about Congress called (appropriately enough) A Parliament of Whores. He said: no one, starting with crusading politicians, and including police who work the streets, additional prosecutors needed to prosecute criminals, and lawyers needed to defend the accused, want the Drug War to end because they’re all fattening off it.

🚨 do you understand what New York City just accidentally admitted.. NYC spent $81,705 per homeless person last year.. the median American household earned $81,228.. the government spent MORE to keep someone homeless than most families earned to keep themselves housed.. that $81,705 isn't going to the homeless person.. it's going to the system around them.. shelters, administrators, case managers, contracts, overhead.. the industry that manages homelessness.. not the end of it.. if NYC gave every homeless person that money directly.. they could afford nearly 2 years of rent.. most of them wouldn't be homeless anymore.. instead the money goes to the system.. the system keeps running.. the homelessness stays.. and every year they ask for more funding to manage the problem that the funding was supposed to solve.. the homeless are worth $81,705 a year to the system.. they're worth nothing to it solved..

The Welfare State has badly damaged this country. We need only think back six years to start of the COVID foolishness to see how true this is. The average guy stayed home when told to stay home: why did he do this? Why was he so obedient—so docile, so compliant, so contrite? Because he could be: because we have a welfare—nanny—state he knew he didn’t have to leave the house to get a living. So guess what he didn’t do.
