@motomatters I think the taboo premise is kind of what makes the emotion special. Knowing that they’re not supposed to but have to anyways because they are overcome is the window to the soul in a way. I don’t stand for any kind of repression, but I think that’s what makes the moment special.

Watching the winner of today's TdF stage say they don't want to cry on TV, while clearly overcome by emotion makes me think about similar moments in MotoGP, and the weirdness of the stereotypical idea of masculinity and expressing emotion. /1
