Mexican Screwworm Cases Explode: Every Thursday USDA updates its weekly Screwworm page. Over the prior week 38 new cases were reported in two specific center/north states. That brings the total new cases in these two states since January 1 to 133.

Didn’t realize this until I heard it today, “15 of last 16 sessions choice boxes have closed up, and feeder index has closed down 14 of last 15 sessions” are we in a November’25/September’24-type buying opportunity?

Formula weights in the Western Cornbelt increased 29 pounds from last week to 1,004 pounds, now 30 pounds higher than last year.

A Nebraska slaughter plant closed (while Neb added feedlots) while the packing ind. kept Texas plants without enough cattle. Where are a majority of fed cattle cash negotiated? Nebraska, Iowa & Minnesota, the north. Packing industry is pressuring cash negotiation. @ChuckGrassley

One thing that is hard to measure/feel unless you are in it every day is what we call the'pipeline", that is meat that is unsold in packers,traders,distributors inventories. The currentness of the the pipeline has a huge effect on the wholesale market. Pork pipeline seems current
