The NFL and ESPN both posted about one player signing a deal but not another player for signing the same deal. How come?

The more I watch tape of college guys & then here ppl throw around certain QB names, the more it emphasizes how much ppl really do like traits over production!! Yet, it seems obvious to me that very few “traity” guys with limited production as a passer ever go on to great things in NFL… am I missing a bunch of guys that one would put into this category? And on the flip side most productive guys just seem to always be productive, even if all don’t become great!
