@EricLDaugh Isn't this the person who told the US we cannot use our own bases? Regardless of my feelings about the war, I will always support our troops. They should have full access to their bases, especially bases in supposedly allied countries.

@heterodoxan As an American, I tend to agree with this. I am generally pro NATO, but not being able to US bases or NATO airspace during an immediate conflict against a nation that is led by terrorists and regularly chants "Death to America." The US needs reliable partners.

It's actually absurd how many Europeans fail to grasp that denying us the use of those bases for operations in Iran, which is a more immediate threat to Europe than to us, made even a lot of US fans of NATO wonder what we're doing in Europe anymore.
