"Since February 2026, Kenya has rolled out a continuum of care for fistula, developed policies, guidelines, and surgical training materials to strengthen prevention and treatment." - Dr Edwin Serem, Head of the Division of (RMNCAH) and Deputy Director of Reproductive Health @MOH_Kenya Today, 13 trained fistula surgeons operate across 20 treatment sites nationally, with the government actively working with counties to establish a site in every county. And reaching women where they are? That's the work of 107,000 trained #CommunityHealthPromoters, creating awareness, reducing stigma, and ensuring women are referred to the care they need and deserve.
