🏀 Plainfield takes down NJ’s No. 1 team on the national stage! 🏀 Plainfield defeated Bergen Catholic 58-55 in a matchup of New Jersey state champions at The Throne: National Championship at the American Dream Mall. Micah Gordon led the Cardinals with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists while playing every minute of the game. Plainfield moves on to tomorrow’s semifinal at 7 PM. What did we see over the last two years from Delbarton's Jayden James? GREATNESS. James went 74-0 in that span winning a pair of state titles. His longest match was 2:22 in Atlantic City. 🏀JSZ Mr. Hoop Zone Finalist - Micah Gordon, Plainfield🏀 The 4-star junior had a spectacular campaign, delivering incredible moments all season long – from a half-court buzzer-beater to an all-time dunk in the state final while leading the Cardinals to their 2nd straight Group 4 state championship. Gordon was one of the state’s top scorers with 765 points and sits just 159 points away from 2,000 for his career. His junior year highlight reel is ELECTRIC! Lewis played in all 29 games while averaging 15.9 points and 5.5 rebounds highlighted by a buzzer beater to win the Union County championship! The Penn commit led the Cougars to a sectional three-peat in Central Jersey Group 4 with back-to-back appearances in the Group 4 State Final. Montgomery’s all-time leading scorer closed out his senior campaign averaging 20.5 points per game, bringing his career total to 1,745 points.
