.@realDonaldTrump was the face of the Covid response. And he royally fucked it up. Dr. Fauci gave him the facts every night and he went out and lied to the American public daily. Dr. Fauci had a fight for every penny in the fight against AIDS. He is a fucking hero.

@azsweetheart013 Dr. Fauci was a career bureaucrat with huge power over policy & funding. He was the face of the U.S. COVID response. Pleading the Fifth today rather than answering questions on lab origins, diaries & NIH funding in Wuhan doesn't say 'fine servant with nothing to hide.

@piersmorgan Per my understand, his counsel thinks that this is a "gotcha" questioning, and if he answers incorrectly could be charged with perjury. I get it, but the American people deserve the truth. Not only from Fauci, but from Republicans & Democrats on a myriad of subjects

There was plenty senators could have asked Dr. Fauci about what lessons he learned, and the country should, from the COVID pandemic. Instead they engaged in an obvious attempt to demonize and entrap the 85-year-old, who received the Medal of Freedom from a Republican POTUS for the work he did to save millions here and abroad from the AIDS epidemic. This was not about public health. It was about one senators longstanding vendetta.
