@larder_t You need some common sense , So.... you open fire on an individual not even identified as the Suspect , and then open Fire on a Building and then jump in your car and leave . And you believe that is Prudent and Professional Conduct . Do you think this was Reasonable ??

@RCMPNS SIRT went to great lengths to lay out enough plausible explanation in this matter than was necessary to corroborate the two RCMP officers testimony. Careless use of a lethal weapon by a sworn officers who's duty is to protect life and property - not carelessly destroy it. Shame.

@Tim_Bousquet In Nova Scotia, the freedoms are infrequently less. If you want protection from crime you better arm yourself with a defence-first mentality...or you'll be a victim with no justice from both public and police.

It's almost as if they don't want us filing FOIs.

I’ve been made aware of a post circulating on Facebook from someone who has an axe to grind with HRFE. HRFE can fight their own battles, and I hope they do, but the post alleges this page is somehow connected to or run by management of the fire department, which I can address:

@kimwall66 You can do whatever you want I guess, but the reality is it's a lot more complicated than that. The map can be green and your fire can still be illegal. It can be red and a fire could be legal. This is the issue.

As a followup to the thread earlier, a few folks have sent me this. I am indeed aware the province produces a burn map. The issue is that this doesn't even begin to give you half the information you need to make a determination if you can burn in HRM.

@HRMFireNews Fire ban still in effect? Map shows no burn, but the language contradicts the map with a fire ban in effect until May 15....unless they meant May 15, 2021.

@HRMFireNews Council should look at cuts where the needs aren't hinged on life or death. Cutting fire and police is easy bc public target. Look inward council, internally, mgmt, flower pot hanging, etc.

But just to be clear, the recommendations I mentioned were meant to be immediate. So, the need has only grown since then.

It does anticipate future growth in some areas, but that’s a good point. This is a 5 year old report, and HRM has only grown since then.
