Marvel once erased Spider-Man's marriage from history. They rewrote reality so the wedding never happened, just to make Peter Parker single and broke again. The new movie, Brand New Day, is named after the storyline that came out of that.
It started with Aunt May dying, shot by a bullet that was meant for Peter. He tried everyone. Doctor Strange and the smartest people alive all gave him the same answer: there was no saving her. Then a villain named Mephisto turned up with an offer. He could save May's life. In return, Peter had to hand over his marriage to Mary Jane, scrubbed from history like it never existed, and let the entire world forget he was ever Spider-Man. Peter said yes. So did she.
The comics that picked up after that were called "Brand New Day." Suddenly Peter was single and dead broke again, back in a cramped apartment chasing small-time crooks. The man who ran Marvel at the time, editor Joe Quesada, later admitted the whole point was to drag Peter back to square one: a young guy scraping to get by, the version readers fell for in the first place, instead of a settled married adult.
So when Feige says this is the first movie "focused on the classic elements of Spider-Man," that stripped-down, lonely Peter is exactly who he means. It is the 2008 reset almost line for line, right down to the sad little apartment and the police scanner crackling in the background.
And the movies already pulled this exact move once. At the end of No Way Home, Doctor Strange cast a spell that wiped Peter out of every mind on the planet, his girlfriend and his best friend included. Nobody knows who he is anymore. It lands him in the same spot the comic did: completely alone, a hero the world cannot place. The film swaps a villain's deal for a wizard's spell.
That last one, No Way Home, made around $1.9 billion, one of the biggest movies ever made. The "classic" Spider-Man they are now selling you as a fresh start is the one Marvel had to erase twenty years of comics to get back.

‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ is the first MCU film “focused on the classic elements of Spider-Man,” says Kevin Feige. “He’s doing the Spidey thing of living in a rather sad, small apartment, listening to the police scanner and going out and using his great power responsibly.” (empireonline.com/movies/news/sp…)

The director who shot this fight built his whole career on slow motion. For the Superman brawl people call the best ever, he used none of it. He filmed it shaky and handheld, like news footage of a disaster, so your eyes buy two men smashing each other through skyscrapers.
That director is Zack Snyder, and the shaky camera was only his first trick. The crew filmed the actors doing the early, ordinary parts of the fight, then stopped the instant a punch turned superhuman. A second camera photographed the empty street and the actors from every angle. Months later, the crew dropped computer-made copies of the actors into that exact spot, moving faster than any human could. You never catch the moment the person becomes the computer. That was the whole point.
Almost nothing on screen is what it looks like. Around 1,500 shots in the film needed computer work, handed to studios like the one behind Lord of the Rings. The villain, Zod, wore nothing on set but a gray suit covered in dots, and every piece of his armor was painted on later by computer. They even photographed the actors' faces from eight angles at once, so artists could rebuild them on a computer.
Composer Hans Zimmer refused to touch the old Superman music everyone hums. He gathered about a dozen of the best drummers alive, including the son of Led Zeppelin's drummer, sat them in a circle, and stood in the middle waving them on. He wanted the pounding to hit you from every side, like the fight had broken out in your room.
The buildings fall the slow, heavy way they fall in life, so the wreckage feels like a true disaster off the evening news. The man who drew up the final flying fight said he set out to beat the famous Neo versus Agent Smith battle from The Matrix, and to make it move like a Japanese cartoon.
The film cost $225 million and earned about $670 million, close to three times its budget. Thirteen years on, people still call it the best fight in any superhero movie. The crew earned that by pouring most of their work into one job: making sure you never spot where the live actor stops and the computer takes over.

It’s been 13 years, yet no other live action fight has come close to this greatness.

Stella, your statement exposes exactly why South Africans are angry. When citizens want to run a business, government demands ownership verification, tax compliance, operational requirements, permits, licences and endless bureaucracy before support is released. But elsewhere the system is far more accommodating: asylum seekers get Section 22 permits that legalise their stay, and school rules also accept asylum/refugee documents and even affidavits where official papers are missing. Then people like Mbeki, Mantashe and Dlamini Zuma have the nerve to talk as if South Africans are the ones who are unskilled or unemployable. No! That’s BS! the truth is that this government has made life harder for its own people, then insults them for not thriving inside the mess it created. South Africans are angry because the system does not work for them. And if you still vote ANC after this, then you are voting for the very people who built the dysfunction.

Dear Ghanaian Politicians, we are not mobilizing the youth to attack South African businesses in Ghana 🇬🇭. Our message is simple: bring our brothers and sisters home legally and safely, address the concerns in South Africa, and most importantly fix Ghana for the people who voted for you. Ghanaians want jobs, security, and a better future — not conflict between Africans.

Thanos was deeply terrified by Tony Stark in Infinity War- Here's how.⚡
In Avengers: Infinity War, Tony Stark uses every single weapon he has just to give Thanos a tiny scratch on the cheek.
Thanos mocks him by saying, "All that for a drop of blood." But if you look deeper into the lore, Thanos was actually terrified at that exact moment.
Before that fight, Thanos was considered an untouchable, immortal monster across the universe.
He had fought in thousands of cosmic wars against gods and aliens, and not a single one of them had ever managed to even scratch his skin.
But on Titan, a regular human with zero superpowers used pure Earth technology to make him bleed-even though Thanos was holding four Infinity Stones.
Thanos instantly realized that Tony Stark’s mind was dangerous. He knew that if Tony had more time to build better weapons, he could actually kill him.
That is why Thanos used one of his most brutal attacks to take Tony down right after. When he tells Tony, "You have my respect, Stark," he isn't being sarcastic.
He genuinely respects him because Tony proved to the entire universe that Thanos wasn't a god. He could bleed, which meant he could be defeated.

After intense pressure from people on X, the Minister of Small Business Development has finally released a breakdown of how much of the R500 million Spaza Shop Fund has been used.
According to the statement, about R79.6 million has been approved so far across the provinces.
That's nice... but she's still not telling us what South Africans really want to know 😭👇🏾
Who got the money?
What are their names?
Which businesses received funding?
How much did each business receive?
We don't need spreadsheets and provincial summaries only. We need transparency.
South Africans have been burnt too many times by empowerment funds, relief funds and government programmes that later turned out to benefit politically connected individuals. Maybe I'm wrong, but experience has taught us to ask questions early.
Give us the surnames of the beneficiaries. Let the public see who received funding.
Otherwise people will naturally suspect that some of the money found its way to politically connected families, friends, comrades, relatives, sons and daughters of influential officials and well-connected networks.
And please don't tell us to wait for accountability. South Africans know how this movie ends. First we're told everything is fine.
Then two years later a report comes out, a commission is established, millions are unaccounted for and everyone suddenly has selective amnesia. 😭
Maybe every cent was spent correctly. If so, publishing the full beneficiary list should be the easiest thing in the world.
