So they built something different. The Electoral College. The presidential veto. A two-thirds threshold to override it. A Constitution explicitly designed to be anti-majoritarian. The rules exist to protect you from 51% of your neighbors deciding your rights don’t matter today. How many Americans know that’s what they’re actually living under?
