@RETENEIZER @AveMos You'll be amazed then to learn, that the 3rd place for this competition was done 100% in blockbench. No blender or other tools, no post processing, that's just how it looks in blockbench.

@JTK222_ @AveMos for these contests, you can do any shit like at the train competition, but it's beautiful to render, it's a fact, but I personally don't like this attitude to creating works for the competition

@RETENEIZER And 6th, the most important part. You're not making art for other artists. (Well in this case kinda, but not professional artists) It's essential that normal people like it, and not that some art teacher can let their class write a 10 page interpretation of your art work.

@RETENEIZER 5. If you want to create a feeling of depth, on a flat surface, you can't just slap on the same texture from all perspectives. Only having depth on the arches at the top, but not on their sides makes this look like a badly made theater set.

@Christendo_ @kingbdogz @LadySandraPon @WitherKing001 The biome votes were different, though. They were marketed as "vote the order" not "which you get". Additionally Mob Votes at the start were a "the losers will never be added" I think they just backtracked on that last year, or two years ago? Not surprised people still don't know

@kingbdogz @LadySandraPon @WitherKing001 ^ we saw an example of this in the wild update, with the mangrove swamp/swamp features specifically. the swamp lost to the mountains in the 2019 biome vote, but returned in 1.19 with all the promised features. just because a mob/biome loses doesn’t mean it is gone forever

So I'm hearing a lot of blatant misinformation about what the Minecraft mob votes are, how they work, etc. Let's start off with a very common claim. "Modders can do more in less time." I can tell you this. Yes, they can. But is that always a good thing? (1/11)
