NEWS: Despite his empty boasts to reporters about confronting E. Jean Carroll in her rape and defamation lawsuit against him, Trump allowed the 5pm Sunday deadline to pass and will not testify in court. Instead, closing arguments for the trial will begin today, after Trump said he was cutting his trip short to come back and "confront" Carroll. "I have to go back for a woman that made a false accusation about me, and I have a judge who is extremely hostile,” he claimed. His own depositions given before the trial are seen as incredibly damaging to him, as he doubled down on his boast that his celebrity allows him to assault women. He also mistook a picture of E. NEWS: E. Jean Carroll's legal team has rested it case after having presented devastating testimony from Carroll and others who can corroborate her claims and who also suffered alleged assaults by Trump. The jury, comprised of 6 men and 3 women, heard Trump's deposition today in which he confirmed his belief from the Access Hollywood tape that, because he was a star, he's allowed to sexually assault women. “Historically that’s true with stars. Not always but largely true, unfortunately or fortunately.” Meanwhile Trump, who was in Scotland in order to appear too busy to attend the trial, claimed earlier today that he was cutting his trip short so that he could return to New York to face his accuser, despite the fact that his own lawyer Joe Tacopina confirmed that Trump would not attend. This is just more bluster. He has consciously avoided the trial, is despised by most New Yorkers, and made damning statements in his testimony. BREAKING: Rep. Jim Jordan has taken the House Judiciary Committee on a field trip to New York City to perform theatrics by attacking Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg in defense of disgraced, twice-impeached, former president Donald Trump. His goal is to attack Bragg's record on crime. The problem with that strategy is Ohio's statewide homicide rate is 49% higher than New York City's rate of 5.8 homicide deaths per 100,000 residents. Additionally, Jordan himself refused to comply with subpoenas on January 6th, and has been accused of knowing about the molestation of dozens of wrestlers but doing nothing about it. My heart goes out to Bruce Willis and his family, & also my gratitude for shining a much needed light on this disease. When people step forward it helps all of us. When people get a diagnosis it’s extremely difficult, but also for most a relief to get a diagnosis.
