Today marks eight years since Eric Chapman first tried to get to know his new neighbours just across the squaaare.

It’s that old, otherworldly honky-tonk, crackly record player crunch of a sound. Simply, beautifully in tune with itself. Worth listening to. /end

Imagine an upright piano left in a cold warehouse for decades. I once found one in canal-side craft studios in Hebden Bridge. Its whole tonality had slipped sideways, some notes further than others, so its once perfect harmonies shimmered instead like a mirror under water. 16/17
