South African #MedTwitter, please help! Does anyone have copies of the 1998, 1999-2001 and 2002-2004 NCCEMD Saving Mothers reports? I've hit a brick wall and can't find them anywhere (and need them for my PhD research). Any help would be appreciated!

Here’s a nice analysis of 2.5M children about Tylenol and autism. The study found a small association between tylenol use in pregnancy and autism, but the association went away in sibling analysis. In sibling analysis you compare children born to the same mother where one child was exposed to Tylenol but not the other. This is a better comparison because genetics are similar between siblings whereas they differ greatly in non siblings from different families. Bottom line: no increased risk of autism with tylenol use in a huge population analysis. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…

As a reformed user of the term “foetus” I now have the editorial from @nelson_piercy printed next to my desk so I can dramatically point at it while working with students on their manuscripts. (The dramatic pointing with a theatrical sigh is key.)
Charlotte Frise@obstetricmedic

🤰 First: the correct spelling of fetus does not include an 'o'. This is not Americanised as some think. For more information, the editorial here by @nelson_piercy sums up the history. Short version - just use FETAL/FETUS and you won't go wrong. journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.117… /1
