The K-1 and 1st grade classes had a great time with visitor Scott Allen, an author and artist who read aloud his book ‘Somethin Pumpkin’ and then facilitated a pumpkin art project!

Miss McGowan’s first grade class presented their final PBL projects for their families last Friday. They worked collaboratively in groups to show teamwork, compromise, growth mindset, and communication as they built different structures.

Our kindergarten and first grade “scientists” are studying what makes something living or non-living. Lab coats and safety goggles were provided by a grant from the Simi Valley Education Foundation!

Earlier this week Amy was in an accident after hitting a pothole while riding her bike with a friend (she was wearing a helmet). Following a brief hospitalization to treat her injuries, doctors have ordered additional recovery time at home, where she is now resting comfortably.
