Many compare James Fishback to Mamdani. Both are outsiders who came out of nowhere, at maximum velocity. This is true, although, Fishback is polling higher than Mamdani was at this point in the race. The Public Sentiment Institute poll, May 13-14: James Fishback polls at 35%. Emerson Polling, March 21-24, 2025: Zohran Mamdani polls at 10%. The Fishback poll ended 96 days before Fishback’s primary. The Mamdani poll ended 92 days before Mamdani’s primary.
