Been posting about it on IG but I’ll throw it here too, if you’re the kind of cool, tasteful individual that wants to listen to me play guitar on Spotify I’ve got some great news for you open.spotify.com/track/6NKmJePN…

@BobDylan530 I thought you understood that a swastika flag would prompt a response because you kept calling it a provocative art piece and that’s what those words mean but it turns out you’re just dumb I guess, which is fine

@J_Frieds @gayest_tone Why should the mayor be expected to comment on every statement or piece of aer that offends someone in New York City? Should the mayor be required to condemn every individual piece of graffiti with a slur in it as well? Or every homeless person who says something upsetting?

@BobDylan530 @gayest_tone I think it’s probably to be expected the the mayor comments on a flag flown in his city with two swastikas on it. Because it’s a flag with two swastikas on it. You could avoid this eventuality by not flying a flag with two swastikas on it

@J_Frieds @gayest_tone “Had to comment on it” caved to pressure to condemn it, you mean. Mamdani’s spineless comments about it are what associates it with the movement, because he’s playing the same stupid “do you condemn” game that you’re trying to play and conceding the framing to the Zionists

@BobDylan530 @gayest_tone The flag with the swastikas on it was seen by enough people that the mayor of NYC had to comment on it. Do you really not understand how that ends up being associated with the whole movement?

@J_Frieds @gayest_tone Again, you are projecting, I have not once said it is “cool” (though you seem to really want me to have said so, weirdly). Also, not a “movement” that did it, it’s one person. But if you wanna keep doing this weird concern trolling bad faith schtick, be my guest I suppose.

@BobDylan530 @gayest_tone After all this you’re just doing the thing I said, which is saying it’s cool to fly a flag with two swastikas on it. I’m not trying to stop you from doing that I’m saying I don’t think a movement that does that is going to get very far

@J_Frieds @gayest_tone Of course people see it and think it’s gross, that’s the point, it’s trying to be provocative. YMMV if that sort of art works for you or not, but it doesn’t help anyone to affirm the people hyperventilating about antisemitism or w/e, which is all you are accomplishing

@BobDylan530 @gayest_tone Why are you talking to me like I don’t understand what the message of the flag is. You barely even have to be literate to understand what message of the flag is. People see a flag with two swastikas on it and they think it’s gross. We live in the world

@J_Frieds @gayest_tone The thing people are mad about is not someone saying “swastika bad” because that’s not what anyone said. What they said was “it’s bad to compare Israel to Nazis”, and THAT is why people are mad

@BobDylan530 @gayest_tone Congrats on saying who cares about the thing people are talking about. But people are talking about it and I said I think it’s an error. I don’t think people should tweet in support of the flag with a swastika on it. I don’t think we should get mad at a guy who says it’s bad

@J_Frieds @gayest_tone So again, if Students for Justice in Palestine had made this their logo or something, I would agree, bad move, but it’s just some random person who made an art piece, so it gets a big ol Who Cares from me

@BobDylan530 @gayest_tone I don’t care if you’re in my mentions but you are. And yeah man, a movement should be conscious of the symbols it’s being associated with, are you serious? Do you really think it’s not harmful for the Palestinian liberation movement to be associated with a swastika?

@J_Frieds @gayest_tone The idea that a movement needs to police the art that people make - even if that art is offensive and/or bad - is dumb, that’s all I came here to say. And if you don’t want people in your mentions then get off Twitter lol

@BobDylan530 @gayest_tone Man you got in my mentions explaining why you aren’t a swastika flag guy not the other way around, I literally don’t care if you’re going to tweet at people why it’s ok to fly a flag with swastikas on it you should expect people to think you’re ok with a flag with swastikas on it
