@elah_john@carolvorders Yes I’m on about healthcare, public sector are on average going to be paid more and they are held to standard that private sector arnt.
Rishi Sunak Imaginary Maths
Imagine if his wife paid back tax she dodged by opting for non dom status while he was Chancellor=£21m
Then 3,000 nurses now paying £7,000/yr in tax each =£21m could have that in their pay packet this year instead
IMAGINE THAT

@J__B13@sianharries_ 7 million + on waiting lists, can't see a GP for love nor money. The NHS is a busted flush inefficient mess. Needs to be privatised.
‘If Little Johnny needs an overnight hospital stay at £750, a consultation at £250 and a paracetamol IV drip at £270, how much crowdfunding will Little Johnny need to raise when we inevitably switch to the US private healthcare model?’
I’m on overtime this evening working 18:00pm till 6:00am in the morning with Maisie. Please use your #NHS wisely and call 999 for life-threatening emergencies🚑 #NHSinCrisis#Paramedic
@MichaelPreager@theAliceRoberts To some degree I do agree with you, but I wonder how much people actually think it cost to run the NHS day to day. We say “huge sums money” but is it, considering it’s our biggest employer and covers everyone from birth to death and anything in between
@theAliceRoberts Normally, I would agree. But unable too, seeing the amount of cash going into the NHS. What are they doing with it?
Staffing shortages, staff morale, and staff retention, I completely understand.
But financial management I oit of control
I can’t help thinking - all this cash being given to private healthcare companies to “help” the NHS - wouldn’t it much, much more efficient to give it directly to… the NHS. Where there are no shareholders taking profits?
@J__B13@carolvorders Public sector workers should pay their own pensions and not take private sector workers tax revenues as contributions to top up their superior pensions. Private sector workers don’t get money from public sector workers to top up their pensions - which are not protected either.
@AndreaHymas7@sianharries_ It is.. there are millions of people treated everyday. Yes there is immense pressure and emergency care needs drastic improvement. But the care for the staff is not the problem
I have worked in the NHS for 30yrs. 25 y as a GP. Have given my life to this job. Been through burnout twice. Still standing somehow. Never known workload or conditions like it. Useless MPs in denial. Cant bear to listen to any of them. Tragic. So tragic
@elah_john@carolvorders Private sector pension contributions come from the employer.. the employer makes their money from services to the public in some way.. all money comes from somewhere. Where else do you expect the money for public sector workers to come from?!
@J__B13@carolvorders Why shouldn’t we expect no strikes, no petulant entitlement, and for public sector workers to pay their own pensions out of their own wages instead of being supplemented from our wages. You parasites need to to experience the real world outside your militant echo chambers. Clown.
@AndreaHymas7@sianharries_ The NHS needs drastic reform I agree, but it provides so much for so many free at the point of access, I don’t think you truly appreciate what it can provide. Also it may work well for a tourist for the occasional use with decent travel insurance.
@J__B13@sianharries_ I do have a clue. I have experienced the private health care you talk about in many countries. It works very well. The NHS in the public sector here is a busted flush. Grossly inefficient and mis managed on an epic scale. NI contributions can be lowered
@elah_john@carolvorders Haha seriously?! That’s because it is a PUBLIC SERVICE public sector workers pay for the services of private sector which also pays their wages! Money makes the world go round.. your argument is rubbish
@J__B13@carolvorders Triggered. 😂
Private sector workers pay tax which pays towards public sector workers wages and pensions. Public sector workers’ contribute zero towards private sector workers’ pay or pensions. That is wholly true & utterly irrefutable. Stop whining about your gilt-edged pensions
@Andrew29101266@sianharries_ Yes an we all know how well we have been recently at making the right choice. If there is any sniff of the NHS being up for sale the power of money will push us so far into the US system it will hurt
@sianharries_ Yes because the only options are the NHS or the US Model
Both of which are irretrievably broken.
We could of course transition to any social insurance systems like continental Europe which have better outcomes and more beds per capita
@sianharries_ Driving to San Antonio Texas last month and a sign outside a hospital suggested that the waiting time in ER was 3 minutes (if you could afford the treatment when you got there). We need to provide adequate resourcing and support our NHS!
@AndreaHymas7@sianharries_ Clearly you haven’t a clue, private medical insurance is going to cost you way more than what you pay now in tax. The NHS’s free at the point of access system benefits everyone not just those that can afford it. Stop thinking about just yourself
@sianharries_ clearly you haven't a clue. private medical insurance would cover the bill. I prefer the Germany model personally. Ultimately the NHS needs to be privatised as in the public sector it is a farce
@AndreaHymas7@Gasman_J@peggybumsmum Yep that will help you get health care won’t it, let everyone who is struggling with the current relentless demand and pressure resign. Good plan well done..
@AndreaHymas7@Gasman_J@peggybumsmum Also the fact they have spent over 10 years training to get to where they are! It’s not as simple as just resigning and you know it.
@J__B13@Gasman_J@peggybumsmum If they don't like the conditions then resign. Of course they won't resign as they are on £100k and have a gold plated pension.
@elah_john@carolvorders Every member of the NHS pays tax so don’t give my the i lay your wages rubbish. You pay for free at the point of access health care. I’m talking about the conditions they actually work in!! Have you been in an A&E department recently. And the pension is not a good as it used to b
@J__B13@carolvorders Because they wouldn’t get help. Grow up. Nurses in the NHS have gold plated pensions and better working conditions than most of their peers globally. If they don’t like the job, leave. Don’t cry about it to taxpayers who pay their wages (and pensions) out of their own earnings.
@carolvorders Why do nurses only get help? The rest of us are paying extortionate tax too. And we’re not blackmailing people by striking and causing excess deaths of people.
