@runquasimodo Protein is super crucial post workout imo. A good tell you didn’t get enough is how you feel in the morning.

N = 1 Anecdote I’ve done long walks at night and not ate after. Like 5-7 miles (after a day of activity). It was hard to wake up. Exhausted. I’ve done fat cracklings- more fat, less protein. Waking up was still meh.. I’ve done lean meat, more protein. Crockpot. I wake up feeling ready to go. Whether you’re high fat or high carb, I believe protein plays a critical role. As a follow up question/thought- I assume the lower protein crowd is less physically active. Thoughts?

I’ve been laser focused on energy lately because I noticed a correlation with my lifestyle (health-oriented) and positive social outcomes. It’s been a consistent pattern. Like a radiating effect. And even though humans are not capable of pheromones- there is something there I’ve got to a point where I go on side quests and trust the energy. It’s adventurous and fun and I always end up meeting cool people. Is it luck? Is it energies attracting? I believe it’s the ladder. I’m just trying to break that next wall. Deep down I think we all know what we could do better. We’re not always perfect, but conquering these areas is only going to help you. The better you get at this, you wear it like a badge of honor. It’s how you present. It’s seen and it’s felt. It starts looking inside and reflecting who you are and who you want to be

According to Grok- Zinc and Nicotinic acid (niacin) help alleviate hangovers. So that’s possibly part of it… because I do consume a lot of red meat/fish But so do a lot of people I know who still get hangovers 🤔

I firmly believe that sodium is a large contributor to hangovers. I used to get so stung- but now since I don’t really use salt (sometimes I’ll use it in small quantity or a cheat meal) I can drink quite a bit and wake up barely hungover… It comes down to dehydration. Simple.

@runquasimodo True people like you just say the ancients “didn’t have the technology we do” which of course is not true. It is interesting on the use of the carb waters.

@J_sedlezky Pure fuel is a good way of putting it. I think physical endurance is largely dependent on actually doing it. Being in shape and being in motion, it’s very straightforward Trying to understand why starch is such a strong factor for endurance when many ancient cultures defy that

The Inuit, Maasai, Tehuelche, Blackfoot, Lakota, etc All low carb- seasonal. Not to say they never consumed a carb. That’s wrong. But it’s the principle of the diet- meat, fat when available. And yes- that entails PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Strict low carb diets are harder to adhere to due to their stoic nature, but are easy to execute because of their sound nutritional approach. This is where the gains are made for those already in great shape, looking for the next leap forward. Not everyone will get there- but the blueprint is there
Goody💯@runquasimodo

The Tehuelche people of Patagonia… large humans, animal-based diets largely of guanaco and rhea (ostrich) One of if not the largest people of South America- were not living off corn like many South American cultures To me- the ‘plains Indians’ of South America
