I went into AICHA blind w/ little knowledge of the historical significance of the era. I mainly wanted to experience a great heroine from an underrepresented culture. This story manages to weave a folklore myth of a woman broken by occupation & hell-bent on revenge. #booktwitter

I’ve entered my Bloodwing Academy era. I read all three books this past week. I’m so hooked. Every character (except the Fluffin) in this series is a walking red flag who doesn’t know how to communicate. It’s exhausting, but I’m still obsessed with this series.

You’ll feel intense feminine rage and then swing to immense love. Now let’s talk about chapters 36 & 37. I don’t think I’ve had my mouth drop open as much as these scenes 🥵—mouth-watering perfection. The dual narration by Ramiz Monsef and Anais Inara Chase is fantastic.

5✨Wow, I loved Starlight Heir, but Queen of the Night Sky just made this duology one of my all-time favorite reads. This series has so much great world-building and cultural significance layered into an immaculate magic system that is so unique to any fantasy book I’ve read.

The world itself is interesting. I know this is written as a connected stand-alone, but I’m curious who will be next in the series because there didn't seem to be a clear direction. Thank you @recordedbooks for the ALC.

4 ⭐ This story was heading toward five-star territory, but after the climax, the rest of the book read like a depressing epilogue. I was loving every slow burn second and then it was like, hurry up and close everything out as quickly as possible.

5⭐The Trident and the Pearl is a lyrical masterpiece. The treachery of gods weaves an epic fantasy I could not put down. If you loved Wild Reverence or When the Moon Hatched, you will love this. I tandem listened to the audiobook, and Ell Porter does a brilliant job narrating.
