I just made the switch from Mendeley to @zotero. If you know, you know.

That's exactly how it's done! Those who'd prefer a #BibTeX-based bibliography manager should try @JabRef_org. Pro-Tip: organize articles in groups, make extensive use of the "comment" field, and place a soft-link (ln -s) to JabRef's BibTeX file in all your LaTeX projects.

@academic_happy @AcademicChatter @JabRef_org Zotero is open source as well, and the whole point of maintaining a bibtex file in parallel is to avoid any lock-in. JabRef is great, but considerably less comfortable to use than either Zotero or Bookends

If you use a reference manager, what improvements would you like to see in the software? What features or functionalities do you wish were easier to perform or were more streamlined? What features do you wish the software had that it currently doesn't? Include the ref man name.

As a PC member of @ICSEconf, I have spent about 25 h for the discussions. Together with the stats below, this sums up to 115 h overall being roughly three weeks full time. On the occasion of being invited again, I will reserve two full weeks up-front only for reviewing.

Done with my 13 @ICSEconf reviews and here are my scores: 5 (strong accept) 4 (accept) 3 3 3 (weak accept) 2 2 (weak reject) 1 1 1 1 1 1 (reject) 9 h for bidding 5 h studying #ICSE2023 review instructions 75 h for reading submissions and compiling reviews 1 h for these stats ;)

@JabRef_org With the latest update the usual Jabref icon does not appear in the Windows taskbar? is this a known issue? Any way to get it back without reverting to the previous release?

@socbe @avongunten @obsdmd Für deinen Use Case sollten beide Tools funktionieren. Falls du Features in JabRef vermisst, schreib uns gern!

@JabRef_org @avongunten @obsdmd Keine aussergewöhnlicher Use Case also.

@JabRef_org @lukusem @adam42smith I am referring to a web extension that can pull off article reference metadata from web browser and sync with Jabref library.
