2024-08-11: Pelita Air Service Airbus A320 landed on runway 27 at Bandara Sorong Airport(WASS), Papua, Indonesia when its jetwash peeled off large parts of the top asphalt layer forcing the airport to close for ~6,5 hours. 2024-08-11: Silk Way West Airlines Boeing 747-400F (4K-SW008, built 1999) experienced a high-speed take-off abort on runway 34L at Tokyo-Narita Intl AP(RJAA), Japan. Flight #AZG904 to Baku came to a stop on high-speed taxiway "A3" with multiple tires blown out due to excessive braking heat.
