Finished licking my wounds from not placing for #BBCComedyCollective it's a pity as I really think the idea had legs. The characters were growing into themselves from Episode1 to Episode 2. I had started Episode 3 as well but think I will knock it on the head for now.

@RichParisWilson It’s the easiest thing in the world to champion people when you are a millionaire at the top of his game. Listen I don’t like his movie and I feel there’s something toxic about him that makes me dislike him. I don’t really care if I’m right I just got a feeling.

@JackCuthbert Even if you feel comfortable using his race to criticise him, on a purely factual level you’re wrong. On the last press circuit he championed 2 films: Aftersun and Past Lives. Coogler talks of him as a mentor. If his intention is to rig the game “for his lot” then he’s failing.

Really important 🧵 that highlights issues that are - of course - equally rife in the UK TV industry. The one missing factor that drives so much of this poor behaviour imho is scarcity. When there isn’t enough work to sustain enough people, abuse is endemic.

I don't think anyone who chooses a creative career because it's easy or is naive enough to think it will be. But there's a difference between recognising that and working in a sector that is broken. By far, the biggest contributor is a refusal to accept that problems exist.

@RichParisWilson Him being white isn’t the issue it’s his private school back ground and it’s his lack of any real edge or specificity or grit or anything authentic in his movies. They are so bland and that’s why millions love them. They demand nothing of the audience other than their eyes!

@RichParisWilson I think essentially he's not great and because he's a white dude from Highgate who went to private school he has been able to continue to be ok and rise to the very top. There is just nothing interesting or weird about him, he's a breadstick of a man.
