But if you want to apply modern geography to where He was crucified — the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Golgotha — that site is in East Jerusalem, which under international law is occupied Palestinian territory. Not modern-day Israel.
And honestly? This whole debate is ridiculous.
He is our Lord. He belongs to neither modern nation-state nor political narrative. Trying to claim Him as an Israeli or a Palestinian to score points in a modern conflict is an insult to his followers everywhere, and we should be ashamed to drag His name into our conflicts.
