I am very wary of reports that the UK is now within range of Iranian ballistic missiles. But if the reports are true, let’s be in no doubt: the UK has no defences against such missiles. No dedicated national ballistic missile defence (BMD) system for intercepting intermediate- or intercontinental-range threats aimed at the homeland. No ground-based interceptors (like US THAAD or Patriot systems in Europe) deployed in Britain for this purpose. In theory our T-45 warships could provide some cover. But most are currently undeployable or not in UK waters. Leaving us defenceless from ballistic missile attack. Another massive military failure of the political class of all recent governments.

@ironman20054 Unfortunately ‘so many’ is not nearly as many as there are ignorant uneducated fools, hence Trump getting elected more than once, and the last time was with increased voter numbers (one of the biggest totals in US history). The education system in the US is a disgrace.

I just don’t get how a country with so many intelligent people is allowing this to happen. It’s literally like America has Satan or the Antichrist at the wheel. This is getting insane.

So breaking into that XI is not just about talent, it’s about history, impact, and what you delivered in that shirt. Now compare that to Manchester United. How many players have actually reached that level there? The competition is not the same. Barcelona have consistently attracted and produced generational talents. The depth of legends there is simply different from what you see in the Premier League. So Rooney making Manchester United’s greatest XI doesn’t automatically elevate him above Neymar. If anything, it highlights the gap in historical competition. Different levels, different standards.

@WalshFreedom You’re underestimating two things. Firstly, even prior to Trump, half the world already neither liked nor respected the US. Partially for the stereotypes that Trump is now reinforcing. Secondly, Trump’s been enabled by tens of millions of Americans & an impotent/willing Congress.

Donald Trump has taken America, a country the rest of the world always loved and/or respected, and turned it into a country the rest of the world now despises, laughs at, and wants nothing to do with.
