@Strelitzia The KM that have been put on this EV equate to 242L of diesel, which when we look at the 0.2L/ha of diesel of our boomsprays comes in at around 1200ha of spraying. It's not marginal, and if that's something you would dismiss as a rounding error, you may need a new accountant.

An EV car is so marginal in energy terms it's not even a rounding error on a rounding error of farm energy inputs, the largest being diesel fuel by orders of magnitude. A small diesel car and a whopping diesel storage tank on the farm is far smarter. These "debates" are facile.

@centristozzy Yeah, and the uncertainly of power availability is always a concern. That's why we didn't go for something super expensive, trialing the concept to see if it's actually viable.

@knightd73 The Station power plant is ful solar and could charge this easily, but we didn't need to do the same at the farm, (cost vs return) but the station powerplant has higher capacity than the farm mains..

I’d be calling for those agreements to be cancelled. As it stands under the current framework, organisations like the UN are treated as “non-core”, meaning councils only notify — not seek approval. That’s foreign interference. They should be designated as “core” and subject to full DFAT scrutiny.

The population has been brainwashed into believing that if we don't burn coal/gas/oil here, but it's burned elsewhere in the world it doesn't impact the environment and they feel good about it (spoiler it's one planet, one environment). It's hard to change generations of indoctrination, the best way forward is present them with an alternative that fits, whilst benefiting our energy requirements.

Re Albo's address to the nation, he said 'Enjoy your Easter' did anyone feel like he left 'because after, we're going to have to ration fuel, &the economy is going to go sideways for a little bit'. I have some confidence that Cook & Co in WA will implement fuel control soon
