US Gov to take 1% stake in $GFS, and award them $300m for the US CHIPS ACT. This is actually a strong read through on $SIVE / $LITE, given this CHIPS ACT is specifically aimed at advancing CPO + Silicon Photonics. (For reference, Sivers and Lumentum were the only two public laser suppliers named in GFS presentation slides. Sivers laser arrays was named recently as a reference design in Globalfoundries SCALE for CPO). Per US Gov announcement: "GlobalFoundries will receive up to $300 million to accelerate domestic CPO R&D by two to three years" (NIST) Never thought we'd see the US Gov / $INTC foundry playbook for CPO in specific...

Technology is down -12% from its peak. 56 days and counting. The median Tech selloff drops 25.7% and bottoms in 73 days. This one is only 12% deep and 56 days in. It's one of the shallowest on record. Every single Technology drawdown in history has recovered to new all time highs. Every one. If this follows the median path, we're looking at a bottom forming in late August - late September.

$MU $SKHY Chinese $DRAM is cheap. Bullshit. They cost almost the same, sometimes more expensive. “A 64GB DDR5-5600 RDIMM based on memory from Samsung or SK hynix costs 18,595 CNY ($2,745) at JD, whereas a module featuring the same capacity and specification, but using DRAMs from CXMT is priced at 18,999 CNY ($2,805)…” “According to data from semiconductor analysis firm SemiAnalysis, the average selling price of CXMT's DRAM in the first quarter was only about 5% lower than that of the three major players” “CXMT produces memory chips using an outdated fabrication technology, its DRAM ICs consume more power than those made using the latest manufacturing processes, have lower performance potential, and mediocre overclockability.” “CXMT's DDR5 die is roughly 40% larger than Samsung's equivalent, which means fewer usable chips per wafer and a structurally worse cost base, not a better one. … Its cost per bit remains more than 30% above the three leading suppliers…”

THE $NVDA VERA RUBIN SUPPLY CHAIN BREAKDOWN Nvidia’s Vera Rubin is ramping into full-scale production and reshaping the AI rack bill of materials in three major ways: more HBM per rack, a shift from pluggable to co-packaged optics and the move to 800VDC power. Here are the companies positioned to capture each transition: Memory Storage (content-per-rack story) • $MU, $SNDK, $SKHY and Samsung sit at the memory and storage layer as next-gen AI systems require more bandwidth, more capacity and faster data access. Advanced Packaging (bottleneck that gates everything) • Foundry / packaging: $TSM, $AMKR, $INTC • Packaging equipment: $AMAT, $LRCX, $KLAC, $ASML • Test / validation: $TER, $AEHR • Substrates / materials: $TTMI Optical Communication (CPO transition) • Optical modules: $COHR, $LITE, $AAOI • CPO / switching chips: $AVGO, $NVDA, $MRVL • High-speed connectivity: $CRDO, $ALAB • Fiber / networking: $GLW, $NOK, $CSCO, $ANET • Silicon photonics / packaging: $TSM, $GFS, $TSEM 800VDC Power Supply (architecture shift) • Wide-bandgap semis: $STM, $ON, $NVTS, $POWI, $WOLF • Power management / hardened devices: $MPWR, $ADI, $TXN, $AOSL, $VICR, $MCHP • Motherboard / connector / power module: $FLEX, $APH, $TEL • Infrastructure / power delivery: $VRT, $ETN, $GEV Compute System (integrators) • $DELL, $HPE, $SMCI provide the system-level integration layer that turns all of these components into deployable AI infrastructure.

$DRAM Deutsche Bank and Gartner forecasts show total DRAM demand exceeding supply every year from 2026 through 2030. Key shortfalls (in wafer starts per month): 2026: Demand at 110% of supply → 210k shortfall 2027: 121% → 507k shortfall 2028 peak: 129% → 795k shortfall Still tight at 111% in 2030. HBM is driving most of it. High-bandwidth memory for AI accelerators is growing 56 to 67% year-over-year from 2026 to 2028. Each HBM bit consumes 3 to 4 times the wafer capacity of standard DRAM. As a result, HBM’s share of total DRAM capacity jumps from 18% in 2025 to 35% by 2028. This crowds out regular DRAM for servers, PCs, phones, and everything else. New fabs take 2 to 3 years to come online. Supply cannot catch up fast enough.

$MU $TSLA Holy Shit @elonmusk Elon Musk just stopped his own earnings call to thank Micron for reasonable terms (prices). "Yeah. I'd actually also like to thank Micron for giving us memory allocation. They've got to make some very tough decisions on memory allocation. We really appreciate Micron making room for Tesla in the years to come and giving us actually a very significant allocation on reasonable terms given the pretty insane pricing of memory these days."
