I think since Kinger helped create Caine he wanted to be there from square one so he could fix abnormalities in the system. Pomni however? I feel like she was a nursing assistant that noone would miss, and was unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Kinger is sane and very intelligent (in certian scenarios where he feels like noone is watching ie. Darkness.) Pomni is very reluctant to be there (Like a worker/volunteer that was forced to go.)
