@ardusita Afraid I can't remember. But the best people I know who may be able to answer are @thembauk. @Jackapod do you know how long it takes cuttlefish eggs to hatch after being laid?

Another 15 cuttlefish juveniles hatched today - that's 37 total in 5 days! Already masters of camouflage instantly on hatching. Super cool. Also really expressive - displaying territorial behaviours and complex body structure/textures.

PhDone! Submitted my PhD thesis yesterday and got the best cake from @laura_brans including particles - now with added fungi!!! 🍄 I am a big fan of the faecal pellet also. Thanks to all those who helped to shape this work and me as a researcher over the years. 🌊🦠💩

The larvae of the angled sunbeam butterfly have a strange shape. When they get angry or startled, they instantly shoot tentacles from the two protrusions on their back and swing them around.

A juvenile Shag (?) joined me for a while to see what it could find in the rock pools. No sound (to cut out the wind noise) but you will have to trust me, it had very 'slappy' feet!

How about this for camouflage? Poplar Hawk-moth caterpillar on a poplar sapling at Fenn's Moss (Denbighshire), found by the eagle-eyed Tony Jacques.

There is very little that is as rewarding as helping someone suddenly understand something they did not understand a moment before. I also very much enjoy when someone else does it to me.

Youngest found this yesterday in some boarder shrubs, Plymouth. Trying to figure out what it might be. It seems to have been 'vacated'. Thinking maybe a moth cocoon? 10mm X 18mm. Thought you may know @henwood_barry @RichardComont? 🐛🦋?
