Valley Center (5A, 2-1) picked up a big statement win over Maize South on Friday. QB Connor Thatcher was nearly perfect, going 17-of-18 passing for 291 yards and 4 touchdowns, while also adding another score on the ground. Thatcher is quickly emerging as a player to watch for the Hornets. Valley Center rolled to a 35-14 win to move to 2-1 on the season. #sportsinkansas

Valley Center (5A, 1-0) opened the 2025 season with a statement, knocking off Eisenhower 38-28. Sedgwick transfer Spencer Crumrine (pictured) made an immediate impact with 5 catches for 110 yards and 2 TDs. Quarterback Connor Thatcher was sharp, completing 16 of 23 passes for 278 yards, adding 2 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs. Ray J Logan contributed 5 receptions for 69 yards.
