Not exactly SFF related, but I did an interview discussing how we should orient ourselves in our thinking. In it, I talk about the importance of the imagination and our connection to the world around us.

This is exactly how I want to handle rejections.

Oh, so you read that author's book! I was rejected by the author's agent. We are NOT the same!

@DRRanshaw For all the time we authors spend not writing, its amazing we have books at all.

@L_R_Schulz It's been years since I read it, but such a great continuation after the two Magician books.

@authornickbetts A great moment when it happens. One of the benefits of being a bit of a pantser.

@CarolynKWrites Congrats and good luck! It is another step on the journey.

Welp, officially sent off my first batch of queries today. Feeling strangely emotional about it. Even if the book goes nowhere, I'm still proud of myself for writing it AND scraping together a pretty decent query package.
Now the wait 🤞🤞🤞

@cklapp2 Be excited and hopeful! It is all part of the process. Can't get an offer without getting a full first.

FULL REQUEST!!! I know not to get my hopes up, but I'm so excited! #WritingCommunity #querying #amquerying #writers #authors

The struggle is real. Stay strong, writers! ♥️

@meglikestowrite Keep at it! It is another step in the process. Can't get offers without getting partials/fulls first.

@MarcyBes A synopsis of where I want to go helps. Just a quick 2-3 sentence description of chapters that I plan to write. It is loose enough for my natural pantser tendencies, but it makes me feel like I'm making progress.

So plotters out there: how do you plot your books?
Gimme all the tips pls 🥹
