Look at the happy faces that received a copy of the book “Jackson, A Celebration of Our Schools.” Dr. Scott Smith provides this book to incoming K-students as a special gift. It’s a one-of-a-kind book written by children’s author and former JR2 teacher, Chelsea Tornetto.

Jackson R-2 celebrated new teachers with a breakfast yesterday sponsored by Montgomery Bank. Thirty new teachers walked the red carpet today along with seven in different positions in the District. We are glad to welcome them to the JR2 team officially! #TeamJackson #JR2Ignite

Congratulations to Kyle Mabuce for being name the Jackson Missouri Area Chamber Of Commerce Educator of the Year! He will receive his official award at the Chamber banquet on January 14th. #JR2Excellence

Heather Hochmuth received the JR2 Excellence award this week. A special services teacher at JMS, she started a birthday club with her own money to celebrate students who may not receive a party, providing lunch, a small gift and a treat for students in need. #JR2Excellence
