Mrs Dart & Mrs Inguanti hosted a very informative presentation on our K-5 curriculum during Hansen’s “Coffee with the Principal”☕️

Mrs Dixon’s K students explained their Canton Map Project to GMS and CHS department heads. We learned about their favorite places around town. 🌎🫶👏🏻

Grade 4 students worked on vocabulary and comprehension by meeting with Mrs Lund to “dig into” what it means to be an archaeologist. They are front loading knowledge for an upcoming Social Studies on Ancient Civilizations. ⛏️📚🌿

In the spirit of growing, we have been working hard by actually printing & reading our MCAS 4th grade essays, analyzing what makes an essay epic and rewriting as 5th graders. Displayed in main hallway with our reflections and some funny memes created by students.@JaclynAbrams12

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month! Explicit, systematic phonics instruction is critical for all students, but particularly students at risk for dyslexia. UFLI Foundations teaches all K-2 students to use their mouths to articulate the different sounds.

Stronger writing starts at the sentence level. Writers need to look closely at what types of sentences they craft. ✏️👀

We had another professional learning session on UFLI Foundations. It is our new explicit, systematic phonics program in K-2. Today we were joined by Hansen School Principal, Paul McKnight, who took his turn teaching CPS colleagues one of the lessons. He did great! 🤩
