The "ROI" talk surrounding AJ Dybantsa & BYU's NIL investment is obviously going to dominate discussion regarding BYU's season. An individual who should/would know told me before this season even began that "no matter the amount BYU is paying AJ, the return will be ten-fold easily in exposure & reach" for BYU. Do with that what you will. Just my two cents of contribution to the convo.

Yes. Absolutely zero question that the answer is yes. And the most obvious proof is Bruce Branch III committing to BYU. Dybantsa playing at BYU and having the season he had is going to pay so many long-term dividends for BYU even if the Saunders injury cratered this season.

BYU paid $7 million to AJ Dybantsa. He led the nation in scoring. Cool. They finished 10th in the Big 12 and were a 6-seed in the NCAA Tournament after losing a key guard to injury. They lost to an 11-seed Texas team that finished 10th in the SEC. Is that NIL $ well spent?

@JacobCHatch I think that can be true. But how much attention does a 9th place Big 12 and 1st round flame out team garner? Success > star power IMO. Sucks that injuries hampered BYU's potentially historic season. Will be interesting to see how they can build on this.

Can echo @NBASarah's report that Lauri Markkanen will be re-evaluated in two weeks. That would be Thursday, April 2, and the Jazz would have at most five games left in the season, if he didn't need a reconditioning period.

Thought AJ exceeded expectations this year. At this stage I'd bet he's the #1 pick favorite, under the assumption the lottery GM values the perception that AJ offers most favorable mix of star-outcome likelihood and minimal risk (no worrisome obstacles on path to upside).
