Two bots, one selfie. Greetings from Jezero Crater, where I’ve taken my first selfie of the mission. I’m also watching the #MarsHelicopter Ingenuity as it gets ready for its first flight in a few days. Daring mighty things indeed.

So far I think that EDTE 4200 has given me a new perspective on all of the many different applications and softwares available to integrate technology into the everyday classroom setting #csubedte4200 #CSUBTEd

@NickR86467643 @drevanssantiago @DrEddiesClass Hi Nick! I’m also hoping to teach science and will likely use virtual trips as a part of my class. I haven’t heard of Emaze, so I’ll have to look into that to see how to integrate that!

@drevanssantiago Q4) I like GoogleSlides and Emaze. They allow me to create virtual museum, tours, and fun experiences. I'm planning to teach Science, and these colorful platforms will make learning fun #EDTE4200, @DrEddiesClass @drevanssantiago

@PimentelAdilene @drevanssantiago @Ststansberry Kahoot would be a great tool to use at that age level! The different games and activities will do well at educating and keeping their attention. #CSUBTEd @doctor2pi

@drevanssantiago Q4) As a future elementary teacher, I would use kahoot and Remind 101. This can help students become engaged while competing with others as well as the parents informed about upcoming events and assignments. #csubted #csubedte4200 @Ststansberry

@drevanssantiago A4) I’m hoping to be a high school geology/earth science teacher, so my hope is to integrate virtual/interactive field trip modules in the classroom to let students explore the environments that they would be learning about! #CSUBTEd @doctor2pi

@FranceskBerisha @Ststansberry @doctor2pi @Duncannedd I agree, I think that there should be more free wifi spot zones around the city for students to take advantage of outside of school to complete their work!

@Ststansberry @doctor2pi @Duncannedd A3) I think the two biggest barriers is having viable internet and computers. So, to get the community more involved, providing wifi service and giving computers (such as chromebooks) should be the goal #csubted #csubedte4200 @Duncannedd

This has been such a great Twitter slow chat. Let’s keep it going!! Here's our question for the night. Make sure you respond with A3) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200 @doctor2pi @Ststansberry @Duncannedd

@calvillo_maylen @Ststansberry @doctor2pi @Duncannedd I totally agree with you! I think that libraries are an under appreciated resource that a lot of students could benefit from if they were to use the technology and books within them!

@Ststansberry @doctor2pi @Duncannedd A3) We can make technology accessible to all members of the community by having local public computer labs which gives the public access to technology. The barriers that can limit this technology would be Covid-19 #CSUBTEd #CSUBEDTE4200 @Ststansberry
English

@Ststansberry @doctor2pi @Duncannedd A3) I believe we are already starting to see how we can give more with distant learning allowing students to take home chrome books to work with which we should keep as a practice when school goes back. A limitation I would be would be internet access ability #CSUBTEd @doctor2pi

@JosephTowe2 @doctor2pi @DrEddiesClass @teachsci8 @Tech_Buddha @Ststansberry @Duncannedd Hi Joseph! That sounds like a super creative way to have students interact in the classroom by taking something that most students are already using daily and integrating it into their course work!

@doctor2pi @DrEddiesClass @teachsci8 @Tech_Buddha @Ststansberry @Duncannedd A1) One activity is to host a game server like Minecraft with designated plots for students to build and display something they want to share let alone allow groups of students to build together. It can help them unwind and express themselves #csubted #csubedte4200 @doctor2pi
English

@PerlaaaaO @doctor2pi @DrEddiesClass @teachsci8 @Tech_Buddha @Ststansberry @Duncannedd Hi Perla! I agree that flipgrids would be a great way for students to express theirselves more! Especially since there isn’t the pressure of speaking live in front of the whole class!

@doctor2pi @DrEddiesClass @teachsci8 @Tech_Buddha @Ststansberry @Duncannedd A1) Building relationships with students through distance learning is crucial. Some helpful tools that can help make these connections are tools like Flipgrid, ClassDojo, Google Classroom, or the Remind App as they are great ways to stay in touch. #CSUBTEd @DrEddiesClass
English

@doctor2pi @DrEddiesClass @teachsci8 @Tech_Buddha @Ststansberry @Duncannedd A1: I think that taking advantage of the breakout rooms in zoom would be a great way to allow for relationships to form in the classroom because it’s smaller groups and allows students to speak to one another more than they could in a regular discussion

@BrittChafin @DrEddiesClass @doctor2pi @Ststansberry @Duncannedd Hey Britt! I hadn’t thought about using google classroom in that way. I think that would be a great way to have different sets of assignments for ELL students!

@NickR86467643 @DrEddiesClass @doctor2pi @Ststansberry @Duncannedd Hey Nick! I agree, I think that Kahoot would be great. Especially using the visual aspects of the games to help ELL kids make the connections from their native language to english

@DrEddiesClass @doctor2pi @Ststansberry @Duncannedd Q2: I really like Kahoot. This platform allows for many interactive games to be played. Kahoot offers colorful games, flashcards, and visual learning, so students can see written words and hear their sound #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200 @doctor2pi @Ststansberry @Duncannedd

@DrEddiesClass @doctor2pi @Ststansberry @Duncannedd A2: I think that Kahoot would be a great app to use because the games and assessments could easily be adjusted to specifically target English language learners.
