The asymmetry in the current factional battle is that Bernie & AOC are actually in Wisconsin supporting the candidate they prefer. Tons of Dem electeds — almost certainly most of them — prefer Stevens, but nobody wants to put in the time or effort to do anything about it.









By democracy, Bhaskar means (brute) majoritarian democracy, not republican. Brute majoritarianism is every leftist’s dream. They live for it.



The difference between social democracy and democratic socialism is worth discussing. But if you're an egalitarian who thinks having society divided between people who own productive resources and people who have to work for them, then I'd argue you're not egalitarian enough!
