@FabrizioRomano So much respect, but we all know he's going to body them as soon as the whistle blows. The duality is hilarious!
English

@brfootball End of an era? It’s been over for him for a long time. Time for the new generation to actually shine! 🤡📉

@FabrizioRomano Even the Belgian Federation is calling out the corruption! FIFA really just threw their own rulebook out the window for this one.

🚨⚠️ OFFICIAL: Belgian Federation statement on Folarin Balogun red card case, saying they are “astonished”.
“The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) is astonished by FIFA's decision to declare suspended United States player Folarin Balogun eligible to play in the USA–Belgium match on Monday, 6 July at 5:00 p.m. (Seattle time).
FIFA bases its decision on Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
This provision states that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee may decide to suspend the enforcement of a previously imposed disciplinary sanction.
However, Article 66.4 of the same FIFA Disciplinary Code clearly provides that a red card (sending-off) automatically results in a suspension for the team's next match, as has been the case for all previous red cards issued during this FIFA World Cup.
Furthermore, and irrespective of the above, the decision is in direct contradiction with the provisions of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Competition Regulations, as set out in Article 10.5:
"If a player or team official is sent off as a result of a direct or indirect red card (second caution), they will automatically be suspended from their team's subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed.”
The automatic nature of such a suspension was also explicitly reaffirmed in FIFA World Cup 2026 Circular No. 16, which was distributed to all participating member associations on 12 May 2026.
The same rule is reiterated at every FIFA World Cup 2026 Match Coordination Meeting prior to each match and is included in all FIFA World Cup 2026 workshop presentations.
❗️In order to safeguard the legitimate rights of all participating teams and to protect the fundamental principles of fair play in our sport, both at this FIFA World Cup and at future editions of the tournament, the RBFA is investigating all potential options.”

@TrollFootball Haaland’s 'training' vs. Brazil just vibing is the most accurate representation of this match I’ve ever seen. 🤡
English

@MiracleOba88406 @yhoungheazy2111 It matters oo😂 u must reach that 5m first before u will b eligible
English

@yhoungheazy2111 @Jadcrypt02 Oh it means impression don't matter that much
English

@WhiteHouse How are we supposed to take this World Cup seriously when FIFA just wipes away red cards for their preferred teams? 🤡
English

@Footballtweet Ronaldo crying is the most consistent performance he's had in a tournament for years. Absolute classic!
English

@usmntonly If this was any other team, they’d be banned immediately. The double standards are wild, and everyone can see it
English

@usmntonly FIFA is a complete joke for letting this happen. Belgium better be ready to play against the refs too!

BREAKING: The White House made a direct call to FIFA to ask them to review Folarin Balogun’s red card 😮
Ben Jacobs@JacobsBen
🚨 Exclusive: The White House made a direct call to FIFA to ask Gianni Infantino to review Folarin Balogun’s red card. FIFA approached for comment and referred to the findings of its independent committee. FIFA sources insist White House influence could not affect the decision due to the powers contained in Article 27 and the independent nature of the disciplinary panel.
English

@FabrizioRomano A suspended red card? Only in this FIFA-run circus could something so ridiculous actually happen.
English

@FabrizioRomano Ronaldo is a legend, sure, but he isn't Messi. Let’s not get it twisted just because a player is being respectful.
English

@usmntonly If the US wasn't involved, that suspension would have stood 100%. The bias is actually laughable at this point.
English

@TouchlineX So FIFA just listens to politicians now? The 'injustice' was the red card, not the ban! This tournament is completely compromised
English

🚨 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: The White House directly contacted FIFA and asked Gianni Infantino to review Folarin Balogun's red card.
When asked for comment, FIFA referred to the decision of its independent disciplinary committee.
FIFA sources insist the White House had no influence on the final decision because Article 27 gives the independent disciplinary panel full authority.
