🔥 I’m taking on a firewalk for White Lodge! 🔥 On 11 February 2026, I’ll be walking barefoot across hot coals to raise money for White Lodge, an amazing charity based in Chertsey that supports disabled children, young adults, and adults to live fuller, more inclusive lives.

I’m aiming to raise £150, and every donation genuinely makes a difference - funding things like hydrotherapy sessions and 1-to-1 play support for children who need it most. If you’re able to donate, I’d be incredibly grateful! And if not, a share is just as appreciated!

Our latest paper in #GutMicrobes explores how Bilophila wadsworthia and Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron interact in the gut, leading to increased H₂S production and metabolic changes that may contribute to inflammation and disease. Read more: doi.org/10.1080/194909…

🚨 Just published - my first first author paper from my PhD! Bilophila wadsworthia makes hydrogen sulfide (H2S) 🧪—but guess what? Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron boosts this process via a surprising cross-feeding interaction! New insights into gut health & disease. 🧬 (1/5)

This was an exercise in patience. Waiting 45mins in the cold to try capture this with noone in the frame. Was worth the wait and taught me not to rush and just absorb the surrounds. Nite all :)

Auschwitz Memorial
Auschwitz Memorial@AuschwitzMuseum·
This is one of the hardest but also one of the most important warnings from the history of Auschwitz coming for us today. Perpetrators were in fact people who accepted and followed an ideology that made them believe that they were better than others, an ideology that rationalized and promoted hatred & evil. This became part of their everyday lives and their environment. They were not monsters. They were people: fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters. They had their family joys and problems, their favorite desserts or songs, hobbies or fears. They were people like us. But they also perpetrated horrible things, monstrous things on behalf of the ideology they believed in. Dehumanization of all "others" was a tool that helped them achieve their goal. The perpetrators thought of themselves as moral people. And this is the scary part of this history. We cannot dehumanize them, as their story and choices are our human warning.
