🏀 Two Networking Tips for Coaches (That I wish I would have knew earlier) 1) Create an Excel Spreadsheet… • Every coach you talk to add their name to your spreadsheet with their current title and school. If you are advanced, find their school mailing address and add that too. (Good to have when sending handwritten letters) • Every Touchpoint you have with a coach make a note in the spreadsheet. (Touchpoint being a call, text, in-person contact, handwritten letter etc.) • At the end of each summer go through your spreadsheet and if you have no touchpoints with a coach on your list then take them off your list as if there is no mutual contact they are not in your network. 2) If you really want someone in your Network try getting three different touchpoints with them within the first month. (Example: Phone/Zoom Call, follow-up with handwritten letter and one final connection like a follow-up text…) Because of our business, in-person contacts are more difficult to come by. But the first time you see them in-person make sure to go shake their hand and validate the connection!
