He continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Kit is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to bite and has bitten in the shelter environment. Kit does not allow any petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. 💔😿💔😿💔😿 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have lived with cats in my previous home. I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. Magnetite tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

Let's brush up on some feline body language together! I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets. 🆘🆘 SOL, 3 YO, FEMALE– IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 4/6/2025, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST– ➡️ 🆘🆘 3RD Chance on Emergency Placement List – NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 66 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ SOL IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and is declining in the Adoptions room. She is now displaying signs of confliction and overstimulation. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: What kind of cat is Sol? She's "purrfect," as her previous person put it, a playful, social young girl who enjoys fetching toys and chasing bugs as much as she digs chilling out on the couch. She likes being around her humans, sitting by the window, filing her nails with her carpet scratch pad, and even watching TV. Care Center staffers also had great things to say about Sol, describing her as mellow, sweet, people-oriented, and an enthusiastic fan of pettings. Sol herself isn't talking, but she radiates confidence and coolness yet seems to have a silly side as well. Meet Miss Sol on 110th Street today! Sol solicits attention and accepts petting but may be assertively demanding of attention or may play roughly. We feel that this cat will do best in a home without very young children.

Pet me with your eyes! Xena is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. 💔😿💔😿💔😿💔😿 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 CONFETTI, 1 YO, FEMALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 4/23/2025. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ JUST A BABY ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️🆘🆘 6th Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY RARE – SHELTER AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY - COULD BE LAST CALL FOR CONFETTI - VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 49 DAYS IN THE SHELTER- TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ CONFETTI IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: Found on the side of the Jackie Robinson Parkway, which is no place for a lost little cat, Confetti came to us feeling not quite ready for her namesake party name. A good Samaritan pulled over and brought Confetti to us where we've been trying our best to get to know her a little bit better. Though she'll allow a few pets from time to time, Confetti's been pretty grumbly about shelter life thus far and I can't really say I blame her. Our offers of toys and treats are greeted with hisses and our attempts at conversations are swiftly halted. We know there's a forever family out there who will offer Confetti a second chance and the opportunity to feel safe and loved. Though she had a tougher beginning, a brighter future certainly awaits. Confetti tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children.

🆘🆘 SKYLER, 2 YO, FEMALE– IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as a return on 5/1/2025. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST– ➡️ 🆘🆘 2ND Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 41 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ SKYLER IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center when staff have to provide basic animal care daily and she may display conflicted behaviors when engaging with attention during staff interactions or socialization. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. Meet Skyler! Skyler is a sweet and affectionate kitty who's looking for a calm, understanding home. She may start off perched in a high spot like the top of her den, but she'll quickly come forward when called, ready to say hello. Skyler enjoys gentle petting on her cheeks, head, and back, and she often greets affection with soft purrs and a happy, high tail. She has a playful side too-she loves treats and catnip, which make great tools for bonding and enrichment. Skyler tolerates being picked up, though she may squirm a bit and prefers having the option to come and go at her own pace. Skyler interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 TRIXIE, 2 YO, FEMALE – IN STATEN ISLAND ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 5/13/2025, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ NEW HOPE RESCUE ONLY ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 29 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ TRIXIE IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: I have lived with cats in my previous home. I lived with children in my previous home. I have lived with dogs in my previous home. I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles! I am playful and cute! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 HARLEY, 2 YO, MALE– IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an aco - impound on 3/22/2025. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 81 DAYS IN SHELTER – TPO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ HARLEY IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is an under socialized adult cat, is not thriving in the care center, and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Also , medically, due to have bite wounds of unknown origin when Harley arrived, he is on a six month observation quarantine. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Harley is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, he tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. I had various injuries that I'm recovering from really well. I only require a little extra paperwork to be filled out and a few extra vet visits this year because one of my injuries was likely a bite wound (now fully healed). I'm thankful for everyone at ACC taking such good care of me, but I think I'd like to find my forever home now. So what are you waiting for? Ask about me today!❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 LYDIA, 5 MO, FEMALE– IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 4/21/2025. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ JUST A KITTEN ➡️ NEW HOPE RESCUE ONLY ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST– ➡️ 🆘🆘 2ND Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 51 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ LYDIA IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She appears to be under socialized and has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. Lydia appears to be fearful and may not have had much human interaction up to this point. She is very apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she does attempt to flee and avoid human contact. During the assessment she displayed distance increasing behaviors and would benefit from extra socialization. 💔😿💔😿💔😿 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 CHOICE, 12 YO, MALE– IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 5/27/2025, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ CAME IN WITH A BONDED SIBLING – DESSY, 12 YO, FEMALE - LETT’S WORK TO KEEP THEM – TOGETHER ➡️ SENIOR ALERT ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST– ➡️🆘🆘 5TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 15 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ CHOICE IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - Choice has severe aural masses that are causing chronic otitis. He also has a heart murmur and dental disease. If Choice's heart murmur persists, he should see a cardiologist prior to anesthesia. He will need to have the masses removed or debulked in order to treat his otitis effectively. Behaviorally, Choice is very sweet and tolerates all medical handling. This evaluation/diagnosis means that CHOICE will given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: I can go home today! I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home! I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat. Choice interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 BEEMO, 5 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 5/3/2025, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 39 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ BEEMO IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has slightly warmed up to staff using high-valued treats to build a positive association; however, he is sensitive and nervous when petted. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: Before Beemo came to the Care Center, he had it all: a home with many rooms and a big window, plenty of toys, and an understanding owner who loved how cuddly and loving he could be while also having an independent side. But through no fault of his own, Beemo is now with us, and the adjustment to shelter life has been tough for this gorgeous black beauty. Slowly he's been opening up and stretching his boundaries, but it's hard for sensitive souls like Beemo who have had the comfy life they knew upended. If you're looking for a loyal pal with a stellar resume as an affectionate, well-behaved house cat, please don't overlook our boy Beemo. We just know there's a true forever home for him out there. Shy and withdrawn as he is right now, he won't come to you--be the one to make the first move and restore his faith in humans. Beemo tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 KENNY, 2 YO, MALE– IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as a return on 4/10/2025. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST– ➡️ 🆘🆘 3RD Chance on Emergency Placement List – NO ROOM IN SHELTER – WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME – VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 62 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG -TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ KENNY IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS – He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: Kenny has asked us for a little guide on how to do and how to be. We only wish we had one to offer. He came to us from a home with many other cats and his efforts to navigate Care Center life have left him a little stumped. He prefers to keep to his den, which doesn't offer him many chances to meet new people and though he seems to like it that way, he could probably use the practice. This is especially true because he likely hasn't had many opportunities to meet new people and isn't always sure what to make of us. When we try to say hello and offer our friendship, Kenny tends to grumble as he makes himself as small as he possibly can. Kenny's hoping to find a patient and loving home where he can learn how to be the best cat he can be. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 EZRA, 5 YO, MALE – IN STATEN ISLAND ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 5/9/2025. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 6/12/25 ➡️ NEW HOPE RESCUE ONLY ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 33 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ EZRA IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display challenging behavior during interactions. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for his mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, that has resulted in bite/scratch incidents that broke skin. This designation often means the cat is given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Ezra is a calm, affectionate cat who thrives on gentle attention and companionship. His easygoing nature and sweet personality make him a perfect match for almost any home. If you're looking for a loving feline friend to share quiet moments and cozy companionship, Ezra may be the one for you. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you
