For those who know me, I am a bit depressed about the current state of the venture market for folks like me. For founders who can raise, it is a great time. I have to be honest and tell the good founders I meet that taking the big round is way smarter in this market then doing a smaller raise and hoping to get an A. I had to give that advice to 3 teams in the last 2 weeks who I think are good. But, aside from my depression, they are going to land in a better place.

i think the future american grocery store giant will look a lot like: - aisles organized by outcome not food category (sleep, energy, gut health instead of grains etc) - AI native produce companies like fruitist w vertically integrated supply chains (think avocados that don’t turn brown, berries that can last wks) - integrated testing + personalized grocery intelligence (baselines conducted at membership) - feels like Apple - reduced portion sizes (premium feel, more single serve options, higher value per bite) + smaller baskets - “GLP-1 friendly” labels - massive non alcoholic bevs section - starts w exclusive membership + some kind of social experience
